Mousey Xmas!

Hello fellow crafters, today I've finally gotten a chance to play with one of the bugaboo stamps I have.  Since using this I've decided to see if bugaboo had any challenges, may as well put him to good use!  It was my first time visiting the bugaboo blog and much to my delight they do have challenges, as a matter of fact a couple of them! I always have a hard time figuring out layers and what works best so I pick the sketch challenge just to make my life easier.

Materials used:

Bugaboo Stamps - mouse ornaments
C.C. Designs - Snarky Christmas (sentiments)
Lawn Fawn - Frosties (snowflakes)
MFT - Santa's Elves (bells)
Snow Marker
Gelly roll - red, gold, green

I decided to use this little snarky sentiment on the inside since he looks a little tangled in his ornaments.

Winter Holidays

Hello crafty peeps, today starts a new challenge over at Star Stampz "winter holidays". I'm using Christmas star for this challenge. I wanted to make a card that had some type of peek a boo window to hold a gift card in as a surprise, but be a card as well to write something in. So I used this tutorial from splitcoast stampers "surprise pop up card" to do this in. I also used a gift card holder cut from the silhouette store that I had as a template for the cuts made to hold the gift card, and had my cameo cut it into my card base.

Materials used:

Star Stampz - Christmas Star
Clearly Besotted - Brushed Greetings
Simon Says Stamps - So Very Merry
Pretty Pink Posh - Scallop frames
Wink of stella - clear
Snow marker
Nuvo crystal drops - bright gold
Gelly roll - Gold

Copics used:

Tree - G29, G19, GO5, E29, E25
Girl -  E00, E11, E04, R20, R29, R24, C5, YG06, G05, E25, E33, Y38, Y35, Y11
Sky - B00, B000, B0000

I didn't want to leave the slider element of the card blank when its pulled out, so stamped it with Clearly Besotted brushed greetings and emblossed it with wow! gold pearl. I also cut the bottom of my image because it didn't want to do a score line to help it bend up. I just thought a cut like would look cleaner.  I could've made my image smaller to fit over the top of the window but I  really wanted it to fill in the card more.

Inside I used The SSS so very merry stamp "Noel" and embossed it with a yellow green from stampendous. I'm not sure of the exact color because it came in a set and has no color names on it. I then colored it with glazed gelly roll pens, hoping to give it a stained glass look but it just didn't turn out that way.

Thanks for stopping by I hope you enjoyed my project and join us over at Star Stampz for this winter holiday challenge!

Hello fellow crafters, it's been a busy week!  I seriously don't know how the professionals make putting together something look so easy and fast.  Anyway I'm getting ahead of myself, let me explain.  I had decided to make two sets of 10 Christmas tags to put on my etsy shop. I had started making them (my simplest tag still taking me around 3 hours to make!), when I decided I wanted to name this 12 days of Christmas tags, adding more to my work load! I know this took me a week to do I'm thinking even a little longer, but I can no longer remember when I started!lol Now on to the tags!

My Favorite Things - Santa's elves, Beast Friends, Tag builder BP 5

Clearly Besotted - Brushed greetings, Best Christmas
Lawn Fawn - Stitched Circle, tiny tag sayings, gold sparkle hemp cord
embossing powder
Ranger - Enamel accents

Sequins
Copics

I wanted to make some interactive tags in the bunch so did a couple of shaker tags.  No coloring was involved in these two I used the image from the Doodlebug Design Inc. 6 x 6 paper pad, polar pals.

In order to make these two interactive I stuck action wobblers to the back of the images to make them shake!

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed my tags!

Panda on bike slider card

Today I've made a card with minimal coloring.  Using mostly patterened papers and distress inking the edges to give it that pop. I turned him into a slider card with the front sentiment wishing you the best, and left the inside blank so it can be turned into whatever card I need for the occasion. Like wishing you the best on your retirement, or birthday, farewell, etc. You name it it can be used for. This a very versatile card! What I love most about this card is that it was quick to make and still very cute!

Yeti for Christmas?

I've used embossing powder on the sentiment and on the little snow on the sides.  The Christmas tree and little snow I have on the sides of the sentiment are from the MFT stamp Santa's Elves.

Finally I've turned this card into a cute little easel card.  I hope you've enjoyed this little project!

Penguin santa meets nightmare before christmas

Hello crafty friends! Today I have a Halloween/Christmas card. Let me start off by saying ever since I saw the new Tim Holtz Halloween stencil "twisted", I've had a "Nightmare before Christmas" on my mind and new I had to make a card inspired by this. So I went to work! I couldn't find the stencil in any of my local craft stores, and the cost of shipping to Hawaii for the stencil would've cost more then the stencil itself! After some thought I realized I should check the silhouette store, it would be way cheaper, I'd get it instantly, and I still had some stencil material I had purchased awhile back. This worked out perfect, I found a tree with branches that suited my needs and I tore them off the tree in my design studio and created my own stencil!
Materials used:

Kitty Bee Designs - Santa Christmas Penguin
Snow Marker
Gelly roll pen - gold
Wink of Stella - clear
Ranger - Tim Holtz Distress grit-paste
Lawn Fawn - Large stitched stackables
Various - sequins, seed beads, faux snow

Black and Orange

There's a new challenge "black and orange" over at Kitty Bee Designs blog and Aurora Wings is the sponsor of this challenge! Today I've made a cute little Halloween treat box using Aurora wings child in kitty costume.

Unfortunately I've recently lost about 3/4 of my svg cuts due to a computer malfunction, and an error on my part ruining my back up drive! So today I had to put my drawing skills, which are incredibly unimpressive, to work!lol I had to draw out my little spider legs on the top and used enamel accents to give them little bodies, and I had to draw out my spider web! Lucky for me it wasn't anything too complicated!

Materials used:

Aurora Wings - Happy Halloween - child in kitty costume with pumpkin basket
Silhouette - cute snowman box svg
Black ribbon
Ranger - enamel accents black, orange
Wink of Stella - silver
Gelly roll pen- white, black, orange

Buttons!

Today starts a new challenge over at star stampz, and its all about buttons! For this challenge I took this adorable Goth Girl image and turned her into a get well soon card. I didn't want the card to be too heavy so I used a 1" punch and drew on the inside to make it look like buttons.

I used distress Markers scattered straw, pumice stone, black soot, ground espresso, gathered twigs, stormy sky, antique linen, candied apple, abandoned coral, mermaid lagoon, iced spruce, lucky clover, wilted violet to color her and the backgound in. On the clouds and frame I used a copic multi liner and C3, C2, C0.
