Birthday fishes!

Hello crafty friends! Today I have this nice bright mermaid birthday card. It was a nice change to make a little more of a unique card shape then just the standard A2 card.

Materials used:

The Greeting Farm - Mermaid Anya
Tiddly Inks - Birthday fishes sentiment
LDRS - Gilded doily die
Silhouette - center panel step card, under water scene, happy clam
Sizzix - Tim Holtz waves embossing folder
Dyllusions - Crushed grape ink spray
Ranger - Tim Holtz distress ink mowed lawn
Bundling twine
So Suzy Stamps - sequins
Cheese cloth
Fun flock - pink
Gelly roll pen - clear stardust

Copics:

Tail - BV000, BV02, V04, BV17
Hair - FV2, BV13, BV02, V09, RV09, RV06, RV02
Skin - E04, E000, E00, E11, R20
Clam - R30
Starfish - R14, R12
Fish - RV52, RV10, R21, BV02

I used my dyllusions ink spray on the cheese cloth to make it more color coordinating, and have fun flocked the clams tongue to give her something nice and soft to sit on.  Because the clam is a svg file and lot completely flat I used scotch 3m foam tape to adhere her. The gold sparkly shell at the bottom is just a button embellishment I picked up at the craft store.

This card was a lot of fun to make and one of my favorites! hope you enjoyed it as much as I have. Thanks for stopping by!

Patriotic card

Today I've created a patriotic card but I cropped my image just so.  I think that the way I've cropped my image but still kept to some of the patriotic colors of red, blue, and white has made it so that its more of a universal card.  This can now be used as a July 4th, birthday, graduation, or an anniversary card!  I love that its so diverse! I've also been enjoying trying to color in night skies. I used my copic airbrush to achieve this night sky.

Materials used:

Tiddly Inks - Wryn the patriot
Pretty Pink Posh - Mini star confetti
So suzy stamps - sequins
Stickles - diamond, yellow, true blue
Elmers - red glitter glue
Uni Posca - white
Zing! - gold, silver
Gelly roll pen - silver
copics airbrush
rubbing alcohol

Copics:

Night sky - 110, B39, B28, B26, FB2, B04
Hair - B29, B25, B21
Skin - E04, E11, E00, E000, R20
Dress - R35, R29, R59, R39
Sparkler Y04

Hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it.  Thanks for stopping by!

An early start on mother's day 2017!

Although Mother's day is over I have prepared this cute little shaker card for next year! I love how coloring pops on kraft paper so decided to give it a go.  This is the first time I've colored on craft paper and I now most people do it in pencil but I don't have many pencils so tried this in copics.  I was a live and learn experience!

Materials:

The Greeting Farm - Lucky Bunnies
Visible Image - bronte script
Lawn fawn - stitched circle die
Pretty pink posh - sequins
Wild orchid crafts - assorted flowers
Prisma colored pencil - white, cool gray
Copic - W6, W5, W3, W1, RV13, RV11, RV10, R20, YGO9, YG07,Y38, Y35

I used the fuse tool from we r memory keepers to make a pouch for the sequins.

This being my first time coloring on craft paper I looked for videos on youtube, and the ones I watched would lay down a white color first and then go on top with the colors they wanted to use but they all were coloring in pencil.  So I decided to try and lay some white pencil down first then go over it with my copics....bad idea after using my grays I noticed that white pencil had gotten on my marker tip. I tried coloring it off on a scrap piece of paper but it wouldn't come off.  Luckily it came off when I used my fingernail to scratch it off.  His tummy and ears and flower were just done with copics straight on the craft paper since I learned my lesson!

This bunny was done on the inside of the card with the shaker part acting as a window.

mothers day card

Today I have a mother's day card I made using for the first time distress markers.  The blending wasn't too bad but I'm wondering if with different paper if it would've been better.

Materials used:

Heartfelt creations - Sun Kissed Fleur Swirls
Sizzix - thinlits magical butterfly
Deco foil - opal
Tim Holtz distress stain - black soot
Tim Holtz distress ink - peacock feathers
Liquid pearls - onyx pearl
Stampendous - Kaleidoscope embossing powder
Canson - Arches hot pressed watercolour cardstock

Tim Holtz distress markers used - wilted violet, shaded lilac, picked raspberry, worn lipstick, carved pumpkin, mowed lawn, twisted citron, and squeezed lemonade.

The butterfly was cut from the same dark purple card stock as the base of the card. It was cut with stick it and then I laid the deco foil on top and ran it through a laminator which worked way better then trying to burnish is with my finger!
